Community Builder of the year North West 2012

The Mothotlung Network was formed on the 18th January 2007, by Lebohang Bogopane, a survivor of domestic violence in response to her frustration surrounding the rape of an eight year old girl by six men who infected her with HIV. The Network was formally registered with the NPO Directorate in May that year (our number is 056-652 NPO).

The organization received its first significant funding in 2008 from the Department of Social Development. Since then the Mothotlung Network has continued to grow and we now have a staff of twenty committed volunteers, many of whom are trained trauma counsellors.

We are passionately committed to helping to end domestic and gender based violence in our province.
