Mothotlung Network

What We Do

We are passionately committed to helping to end domestic and gender based violence in our province.

Community Builder of the year North West 2012

Our major program at the MOTHOTLUNG NETWORK is our 24 hour Victim Empowerment Crisis Centre where we provide services to abused women and children. Where men are abused we refer them to our partner organizations who provide services to abused men.

This support can be broken down into five simple areas:

Crisis Centre:
At the Crisis Centre we provide trauma counselling to victims of abuse, and accommodation for up to seven days. While they are with us we provide them with breakfast, lunch and supper and also clothing, undergarments, sleepwear, gowns, slippers and toiletries.

Counselling Support:
We also work with our clients to initiate an individual care plan where we assess and evaluate the client and give them advice and support to hopefully move on from their personal crisis.

Capacity Building:
We also provide capacity building services to our clients through accredited workshops, empowering them with knowledge around the Victims Charter, the Domestic Violence Act as well as personal training of how to deal with future challenges should they arise.

We also give our clients the opportunity to undertake further studies so that they are able to lead better life and create an independent source of income.

Social Enterprise:
We have also launched a range of income generating projects which include a vegetable garden, a mini bakery, and a sewing and beading project.
